As I sit here while both of my boys are napping I can't help but, think back to this day four years ago. Four years ago on this day at 1:30 pm we were sitting at Clinic Sofia anxiously awaiting our appointment with Dr. Block and Nancy her Ultra Sound tech. You see this wasn't just a typical prenatal 38 week check up it was so much more. We were having an amniocentesis to see if our baby boy, Wesley Jacob was ready to be born. Since I had placenta previa during my entire pregnancy with Wesley, I was having a c section at 38 weeks, but before they did my c section they wanted to check to make sure his lungs were developed enough. After the amino was complete they sent over the fluid to be tested and Dr. Block told us she was call us in a few hours to give us the results. At 7:30 pm my phone rang and it was Dr. Block calling to tell us that Wesley was ready and that she would see us in the morning. By the grace of God our baby boy was ready to enter this world. When I think back to those 38 weeks, I cant help but thank God for blessing me with such a healthy pregnancy and even though I was on pelvic rest I never once had an issues with my placenta previa. That night was filled with so many emotions for both Jake and I, but most of all filled with this overwhelming feeling of joy that we would be holding and meeting our precious gift from God the next morning! I can't believe that it has been 4 years and that tomorrow our baby boy will be 4!
Wesley Jacob you are truly a gift from God and we thank him each and everyday for allowing us to be your Mommy and Daddy. You have the biggest heart and truly care about the feelings of those around you. If you see that we are sad or upset you instantly try to fix the problem and ask if we can pray about it or you will even offer up your favorite toy to make us feel better. Your sense of humor and the jokes that you love to tell are so sweet and hilarious! You make us laugh like we have never laughed before. You love to help in every situation especially when it involves your baby brother; even when it comes to changing his stinky diapers. The love that you have for him is truly a joy to watch and the way that he looks up to you and wants to be just like you is unlike anything I have ever seen. These past 4 years you have taught us so much and we thank you for that. We love seeing you grow each and everyday, but this year especially you have grown in so many ways. As you entered your second year of preschool this fall we have seen how much you value your friendships with your friends and how on fire you are for the lord! The questions that you ask about God are so amazing and just makes our hearts smile. Seeing you start Awana this year has been an absolute joy! You love learning your versus' and earning your badges. We are so proud of the person that you have become and the love that you have for everyone, but especially for God. We love you Wesley Jacob! Happy 4th Birthday sweet boy!
